Cars in Germany's City Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police State

Authorities stated they were notified by a individual who found a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored substance

Around 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement say they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Law enforcement then found numerous other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police state initial examinations show the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.

A senior official commented the incident rendered him without words and had to be solved quickly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on social media, referring to the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in five years prior.
